WOSHOEEE…is the sound you will hear when The Entertainment Boss is hype and the vibe is lit.
Bobby Kush, The Entertainment Boss, formerly known as DJ Bobby was born Bobbilyn Corain Nelson in Clarendon, Jamaica on 3rd December, 1993.
He grew up in a music loving household and was surrounded by music at an early age and was exposed to a wide range of musical genre – from home-grown Reggae and Dancehall to Disco, Soul, Hip-Hop, R&B and Gospel. He became involved in the family business, often tagging along to set up sound systems with his father. His uncle performed and entertained at parties where Bobby turned the tables for him regularly. His childhood love of music and being around relatives in the business led him to aspire to be an entertainer.
Bobby started to explore a career as a DJ/entertainer at 13 yrs old and adopted the moniker DJ Bobby Kush. He played CD’s to entertain his peers at school events and produced mixes to sell to his fans. He transitioned to performing for larger crowds at community events, graduations, Football matches and other social celebrations and impressing the audience with his powerful voice and natural gift of the gab. His performance garnered a high level of respect in his gift for performing and as his popularity grew he became confident enough to enter competitions.
Bobby Kush won his first talent competition in 2006 at only 13yrs old, at his high school event, competing against performances from singers, dancers and actors. Two years later he won the title of Champion in Action at a community clash put on by a local promoter.
Bobby Kush continued to grow and learn his craft and started to record his performances to review and share with his fans. He performed on an online radio for Canada based Mad Vybz Radio, and Jamaican Krush Yarde Radio. The Online exposure attracted the attention of local sound system Nuclear Dandada Sounds where he achieved the spot of the Sound’s Headline DJ. In his first clash he destroyed his opponent after only three days with the Sound. After a short stint with Nuclear Dandada, Bobby Kush momentum garnered him his first contract to play for Unforgettable Sounds and the International Body Guard Sound. During his stint on Body Guard he represented the sound in the Magnum Follow Your Sound clash against Silver Hawk, Ricky Trooper and Flava Unit. He was placed third trailing Silver hawk, and Flava Unit. Bobby Kush went on to train an apprentice who eventually took his place when Bobby Kush and Unforgettable Sounds agreed to end the Contract.
At 21 yrs old Bobby Kush embarked on his solo career – without a manager or sound system – and worked hard to become one of the most sort after entertainers, performing island wide
Living for his namesake: “Keep Up Stay Humble”. Bobby Kush set his sight on phase 2 of his journey as The Entertainment Boss and left his homeland for Barbados embarking on the first leg of his Caribbean tour.
In Barbados Bobby Kush was met with a flood of energy and cultural vibes. He had landed in the midst of the island’s Crop Over festival. Bobby Kush was blown away by the popular sound of Soca which was celebrated with pulsating energy by the locals. He quickly made links with local DJs, and tirelessly worked to build up a network to promote his brand. With the support of his growing network which pushed him to enter his first Barbadian Clash, hosted by Slew Dem Sounds. Bobby Kush dominated that Clash because he gained the support of the crowd with his performance and smooth Jamaican patois. That performance won him the clash and he had the accolade ‘Champion of the Slew Dem Sound Crowd Response DJ competition’ bestowed on him.
He became a household name with not a day passing without his name or addictive sound-effect being blasted over the airwaves. Whilst in Barbados Bobby Kush wanted a manager with similar vision, passion and hunger for success as him, someone who could represent him with confidence – one with a thorough knowledge of the music he loved. With that in mind Bobby Kush approached realghettostoriez.com, a London based website promoting the dancehall reggae sound system culture. After several months of communicating, Bobby Kush and Realghettostoriez.com built a solid musical relationship which lead to a contract being signed, and they became a Formidable Team.
